Aeradŵr is on the seafront in the small Pembrokeshire community of Broad Haven, where you can find a village shop, post office, beach shops and places to eat. When the tide is out you can walk along the beach to the next door village of Little Haven.
As well as several cafes and inns (see the ‘Where To Eat’ page), we have:
Londis Store and Post Office - basics and local specialty foods such as NomNom chocolate and Welshman's caviar
Haven Sports – you can buy or hire wet suits or surf gear
Haven Beach Shop – which also sells fishing tackle and bait
Jones Coastal Taxis – a friendly and reliable local taxi service
Broad Haven is a relatively flat beach providing extensive shallows which make it ideal for small children, the hot sand warming the incoming tide on sunny summer days. There are plenty of rock pools on either side and a small cave for children to explore.
The cliffs on both sides provide some sheltered bays. It is possible to walk around the headland on the south side at low tide into another bay called The Settlands. Walk round the next headland to Little Haven. Keep an eye on the tide if you do!
Another highlight of a holiday here is the mackerel season when small boats often land dozens of fish which can be taken away and cooked for supper.
Dog restrictions apply to the northern third of the beach between 1st May and the 30th September. Check out a map of the beach to help with which section of beach it applies to.
If you’re planning to visit, check out the tide times to make sure you’ve plenty of beach to play on and that you don’t get cut off by the incoming tide!
